Palcos Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Palcos is a video player for Apple Vision Pro made by Germán Rodríguez. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: Palcos does not collect any personal data, has no servers of its own and uses no analytics or advertising.
What stays on your Vision Pro
Your library, your viewing progress, your settings, the covers you choose and the movies you download are stored only on the device, in Palcos's own storage. Downloads are excluded from iCloud backup. Plex and Jellyfin sessions are kept in the device keychain. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Who Palcos talks to, and only when you ask
- Your servers (Plex, Jellyfin or a shared folder on your computer): Palcos reads their library, plays and downloads your files and stores your progress and watched state on them. They are yours; Palcos receives nothing.
- plex.tv, if you connect a Plex account: to sign in with a code and find your servers. Plex receives a random identifier for this installation of Palcos, as with any Plex app. What Plex does with your data is governed by its own privacy policy. Some artwork on detail pages (backdrops and logos) is loaded from the addresses your Plex server provides.
- Wikidata, only if you turn on "Look up info on Wikidata" (off by default): Palcos sends the title it derives from each file name, or what you type when searching for a movie, to fetch its year, director, cast and genres. Nothing else is sent. Wikimedia handles those queries under its privacy policy.
What Palcos doesn't do
It has no accounts of its own, does no tracking, uses no analytics, sends no crash reports, shows no ads and does not sell or share data. It doesn't use the camera, the microphone or your location, and it has no access to your photo library: if you pick a cover with "Choose from Photos", Palcos receives only that image and keeps it on the device. The local network permission is used only to connect to your home servers.
This website
palcos.app uses no cookies or analytics, and the typeface and images are served from here. The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes technical data from each visit (such as the IP address) to serve and protect it, under its privacy policy.
Children
Palcos is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
